The right way to live

Today’s readings: Jeremiah 51:1-53, Titus 2:1-15, Psalm 99:1-9, Proverbs 26:17

Paul wrote to Titus, encouraging him to teach people the best way to live. I take his words to older men to heart.

Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

He goes further later in the chapter as he spoke to young men, like Titus himself.

And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.

Shouldn’t everyone seek to reflect integrity and seriousness in tell others? Paul goes further to explain our motives for this behavior – the example of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
