Search for the Lord

Today’s readings: Ezekiel 7:1-9:11, Hebrews 5:1-14, Psalm 105:1-15, Proverbs 26:28

How can I keep walking with God in a world that is not following His ways?

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
    Let the whole world know what he has done.
Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.
    Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
Exult in his holy name;
    rejoice, you who worship the Lord.
Search for the Lord and for his strength;
    continually seek him.

The key in Psalm 105 is in verse 4. Searching for God is not a one-time thing. After a natural disaster or  a personal tragedy, I am inclined to search for God and seek refuge in Him. But then with time the pain of the tragedy goes away and I get caught up in the cares of the world. The second part of verse 4 tells me that searching for God is a continuing process, so the tense for the verb search is ongoing, compelling us to search for God every day, all day long.
